Create-with-Nature Zone at The University of California Blake Garden
Using materials from the 11-acre University of California Blake Garden, visitors connect with nature and with each other by creating in the 2300-square-foot Create-with-Nature Zone. Begun in 2008 with Wild Zones and the staff of Blake Garden, the Zone is open to the public Monday through Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm (except University holidays).
When school groups (preschool through college) visit Blake Garden, I often join into introduce them to the Create-with-Nature Zone and facilitate creative time there. I also use the Zone as a site for leading trainings for educators and others working to connect people with nature.
