Create-with-Nature Zone at The University of California Blake Garden
Using materials from the 11-acre University of California Blake Garden, visitors connect with nature and with each other by creating in the 2300-square-foot Create-with-Nature Zone. Begun in 2008 with Wild Zones and the staff of Blake Garden, the Zone is open to the public Monday through Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm (except University holidays).
When school groups (preschool through college) visit Blake Garden, I often join into introduce them to the Create-with-Nature Zone and facilitate creative time there. I also use the Zone as a site for leading trainings for educators and others working to connect people with nature. See this photo gallery. Located in Kensington, just north of Berkeley, California. This map shows Blake Garden and the exact location of the Create-with-Nature Zone within the garden. |
